EuCnC Demo on AI-based Zero Touch Management Systems in 6G

At the 2025 EuCNC & 6G Summit, a live video demo showcased the capabilities of the Zero-Touch Service Management (ZSM) framework developed by IMEC in the context of smart highway environments. The demo illustrated how ZSM autonomously manages network resources to ensure optimal performance for critical applications like traffic management, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, and real-time monitoring on smart highways.

Real-Time Resource Allocation: The demo highlighted ZSM’s ability and future prospects to dynamically allocate network resources in real-time, adjusting to varying traffic conditions and optimising end-to-end (E2E) latency and power consumption for enhanced operational efficiency.

Cross-Domain Orchestration: The demo also demonstrated ZSM’s cross-domain orchestration, where edge computing resources and 5G SA networks worked in harmony to provide uninterrupted communication for vehicles, infrastructure, and traffic management systems.

Seamless Service Delivery: The demo highlighted how ZSM ensured seamless service delivery for critical highway applications, including autonomous driving, ensuring reliable, ultra-low latency connectivity in a highly dynamic environment.

This demo showcased the pivotal role that ZSM will play in the future of smart highways and cities, particularly in connected transportation networks, paving the way for autonomous mobility and sustainable infrastructure in 6G networks.
